Sources say that at last, the two-acre of land to build the memorial of Sandalwood legend Dr Vishnuvardhana has reportedly been handed over by the government of Karnataka to the deceased actor's wife Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana recently.
CM Siddaramaiah reportedly handed over the land to Bharathi, and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) President Vijayakumar was also present during the occasion. The memorial will come up near Abhiman Studio. It has been close to three years since family and fans of the legendary actor of Kannada cinema fought a battle to get the land sanctioned from the government.
